About our school

“Our school offers a safe and stimulating environment where all our children have opportunities to be the best they can be.”

Welcome to Frettenham Primary School, we thank you for taking an interest in our school. We would invite you attend our school, and would welcome you to contact the office to arrange a convenient time for this.

We are a small rural school which has a wonderful family atmosphere because the staff know the children well and children of all ages learn and play together. We provide a lively and creative curriculum where individual children’s needs are met.

The prospectus will give you an idea of school life at Frettenham Primary School where we like to work in partnership with parents and carers to provide a happy, safe, learning environment for you and your child.

About the building

Frettenham Primary School is a small community school situated seven miles north of Norwich in the village of Frettenham, The school currently caters for pupils ages 4-11 and has existed since 1876. Many educational and social changes have taken place in this time and the school has always responded to the challenges of meeting children’s education needs in a positive and constructive way.

The school operates in five separate buildings. There is a Victorian school building which has been extended to provide indoor toilets/cloakroom area, staff room, office area and outdoor play area for our Class 1 children, with an all-weather canopy. A log cabin was constructed in 2013 to provide an additional learning space for the school. A new library log cabin was built in 2016. The latest addition is the replacement of a mobile classroom with a new log cabin class constructed during the summer of 2022.

The school has a very large field with an outdoor trim-trail, replaced in the summer of 2014. Class 1 also have a fenced area of the field to enable  them to provide a quality outdoor learning space.
